REACH is a European regulation (regulation n°1907/2006) which came into force in 2007 to secure the manufacture and use of chemical substances in European industry.
The aim is to identify, evaluate and control chemical substances that are manufactured, imported and placed on the European market.
All companies in the European Economic Area (EEA = European Union + Norway + Iceland + Lichtenstein) that manufacture, import or use chemical substances in their business, whether these substances are on their own (e.g. a solvent or a metal), in a mixture (e.g. a cleaning product containing this solvent, an alloy) or contained in an article, such as a kitchen utensil.
The chemical industry, manufacturing companies, crafts... all sectors are concerned.
